I started CanSkate when I was in grade 6 and didn’t like being with all the younger kids, so I pushed myself and got through most of my tests by graduation, and my last 2 dances after my last daughter was born.

Coaching Accreditation:
Thirty Years Coaching Experience - I have coached mostly in two clubs in my coaching career, and now joining Carstairs in 2022 makes three clubs.

I am currently the head coach in Crossfield Skating Club and have been coaching there since 2001.

Have been working in daycares for the last 15 plus years and have taken numerous seminars related to children that most definitely helps me be a better coach.

Coaching Philosophy:  Skating is an individual sport and it is extremely important to me that all skaters reach their goals and highest skating potential. I love coaching and watching skaters be the best skaters that they can be.

Coaching Area of Interest: I love coaching all levels, but I have to say my favorite is Jr. Star and Star 1-5 because I feel if the skaters have strong foundation at these levels, it makes moving through higher tests and levels easier.

I started skating at the age of four, following in the footsteps of my four older sisters, under the direction of my mom who was the Club Coach with the Vernon Figure Skating Club. Over the years I had the opportunity to train at the Vernon, Arbutus, Kelowna, and Kamloops Skating Clubs. I competed throughout BC and was a Guest Skaters at local Club Carnivals and Ice Shows. Becoming the first skater of the Vernon Figure Skating Club to achieve Triple Gold Status was a huge highlight in my personal accomplishments.
 
After I graduated from school, I was excited to begin my coaching career, which started with the
Revelstoke Figure Skating Club. My coaching journey continued along to Castlegar, Quesnel, and then returning to my home Club, Vernon. Since 2012 I have been coaching with the Airdrie Skating Club and have now joined the Coaching Team with the Carstairs Skating Club in 2024.
 
There is something truly special about being on the ice. I look forward to the skating season and sharing my passion for skating to all ages and levels!
