STAR 1-5
STAR 1-5 is the official "learn to figure skate" program of Skate Canada.
It covers the content outlined in the Learn to Train stage of development which is identified as "the golden age of learning". This program will support the recruitment and retention of life-ling figure skaters in our sport.

STAR 6 - GOLD
The STAR 6 to Gold program is a continuation of the STAR 1 to 5 program and the next set of skills for skaters to achieve after STAR 5. Skaters entering this program will build on skills previously acquired in STAR 1-5, further developing and refining fundamental figure skating skills. The goal of this program however is to train skaters for successful completion of the STAR 6 to Gold assessments.
The STAR 6-Gold program is based on the principles of the Learn to Compete and Active for Life stages of development described in Skate Canada’s Long Term Athlete Development (LTAD) model.
